Senior Level Mobile Developer – Austin Tx

Our   client are the creators of a popular and critically MMO, which has garnered   over 30 Million registered players to date, and is one of the fastest growing   websites in the U.S, is currently looking to hire a Senior Software   Engineer (Mobile Devices) to work on an exciting new family-focused AAA   online video game. Responsibilities:
Development and maintenance of cross-platform online technology

Ability to work with a diverse and experienced team of developers in   a creative and fast-paced environment

Collaborate with other programmers, designers and artists

Create, test, debug and maintain game code and scripts

Mentor and lead other members of the Engineering team

 
Required   Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Verifiable proficiency with C#, Object Oriented Design and Design   Patterns

Mobile device or Embedded development experience

Architectural experience (client/server preferred)

Hadoop Systems Engineer-Direct Hire-San Francisco, CA

Responsibilities

  • Share ownership of Hadoop cluster configuration, deployment, and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot component and/or application failures, and work with Operations and      Analytics Platform teams to resolve them
  • Contribute ideas and code to make our systems ever more robust and reliable
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience managing mission-critical distributed systems at scale  (Search, Advertising, Analytics or other distributed systems experience at a first-tier Web company like Google, Yahoo, or Amazon)
  • Hands-on experience with Hadoop/HBase
  • Strong Shell/Ruby/Python scripting and system debugging skills
  • Experience with cluster configuration and monitoring tools (Puppet, Nagios, Ganglia, Graphite or similar)
  • Experience with performance testing and profiling
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

  • Java and/or Scala skills
  • Experience with Hadoop Ecosystem – Hive, Pig, Oozie
  • Competent with AWS
  • Japanese language skills

Mandarin Speaking Game Server Programmer /Liaison – Concord, MA

Nelson Interactive is looking for a server engineer responsible for implementation and deployment support of a high volume, large scale backend server system for web based games. The successful candidate will also serve as the primary technical liaison.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate as part of the server team to develop and implement a scalable server architecture
  • Design and implement stress and bug testing environments
  • Design and implement server and content deployment systems
  • Support the operations team in game launch, updates, and problem resolution
  • Develop tools as necessary to support data gathering and server operations

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Mandarin
  • 3+ years experience in software development
  • Web server development experience
  • Understanding of distributed systems architecture and development
  • Understanding of code development and optimization in a Linux environment
  • Ability to understand and leverage complex third party software
  • Individual must be self motivated with a strong work ethic
  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Experience in game software development
  • Experience or exposure to client side web technologies (Javascript/CSS/etc.)
  • Experience with Java and/or C++
  • Experience in web security technology and techniques
  • RDBMS and/or NoSQL development experience
